"Definitely worth a go and a lovely addition to the neighborhood. Ambience: New to Essex Road, it is decorated lovely, airy and green, with a rustic feel. Tables are plenty and yet the place feels cosy. Service: The Service here is phenomenal. It is the cook and the co-owner (I believe) at the time we were there acting as the wait staff. They were super friendly, fast for being just two and very accommodating. Food: The food is very good. I had the Mediterranean breakfast which was very tasty. The smashes avocado was fresh amd tasty, which I struggle to find in other places. They didn't have gluten free bread so they went next door and bought some to serve with my breakfast. Amazing! My partner had the American breakfast with Pancakes and said they were delish. The only thing I would recommend to improve was the coffee. It was ok. The cappuccinos were too milky so coffee didnt come through. We saw a latte go by that looked again way too milky. Not deducting any stars for this as I think they can tweak this and then the experience will be complete. Price: Reasonably priced for the area, quality, and quantity.About £15 per person which includes meal amd coffee."

"Have been travelling around 2 continents for 2.5 months and this breakfast was the best. We enjoyed a full English breakfast, avocado and bacon on toast, Fresh Berri juice and 2 coffees. Coffee great. Food excellant. Service amazing. Price cheap. A little cafe with a huge amount of greatness. As the saying goes, Don't judge a book by its cover. Highly recommended."

"I'd been meaning to pop in here for ages as I live really close by - wish I'd found time to go sooner! The coffee is great, prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly with a bunch of regulars they know well. I sat and did some crochet and one of the staff noticed and chatted with me about it. Been around for 30 years apparently - support local independent businesses!"

"We came here for brekky with no expectations as it was close to Angel. The waitress was so friendly and attentive. We ordered the vegetarian English and the shakshuka and the food was insane! Shakshuka was perfect, jammy eggs, so tasty. Incredible chef and he was so nice to chat to too. I would say the coffee is just ok but with food that good, I didn’t mind. Would recommend!"

"From Angel Cafe to Leaf Cafe Bistro this place has a great history and look at the food on offer On this day in particular I had the Shakshuka with Suguk & toast and it was lush. I also recommend there full English & there fresh wraps which I’ve had previously and I hope to try the rest of the menu out Decor was warm & inviting with some peaceful music being played also Staff were a delight and my compliments to the chef 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend"

"My favourite place for breakfast/brunch in Islington. The owner is so lovely and welcoming and his food is delicious, particularly the mushrooms and the omelettes. Incredibly reasonable prices."
